Mark Broom, Mark Broom's return to Radio Slave's Rekids imprint takes in four tracks that showcase the UK techno legend's sample-twisting style of house and techno. With a slew of EPs, LPs and remixes for Rekids and sister label RSPSX in recent years, Broom is one of the label's core roster and most in-demand artists. Tough drums meet soulful, recognizable strings in 'Klashjamz', a real blast to the past chopped up in creatively funky ways. The title track 'Showtime' is next, it's groove skipping and stuttering before breaking out into jazzy electro swing done right. On the flip, broom brings in 'HIGHNRG', a percussive, peak-time treat that expertly does what it says on the tin via a pulsating, rolling bassline accompanied by hypnotic vocals and infectious rhythm. 'Jazz Ting' then closes Mark Broom's 'Showtime' EP, a hyped-up number with an earworm, classic & classy melody. Techno, house, hardgroove and rave, Mark Broom is one of UK dance music's legends and has a myriad of production credits to his name dating back to 1989.
