One of the original vanguards of death metal is back! 38 years into their storied career, IMMOLATION returns with their 12th album, "Descent". Once again, long-time fans and unsuspecting newcomers will be confronted with hymns of darkness and fury, invoked by one of the most respected names in the genre. Constantly touring, constantly evolving and constantly releasing flawless records, IMMOLATION's unwavering dedication to extreme music culminated in the 2024 biography, "Into Everlasting Fire - The Official History of Immolation" by Kevin Stewart-Panko, telling their impressive development from their raw demos to legendary 1991 debut "Dawn Of Possession" up until now. And now, is the best time to descent into the sonic depths of IMMOLATION as their newest opus, mixed and mastered by long-time collaborator Zack Ohren, offers a muscular production that captures the band in it's most fiery and brooding moments alike. For the artwork, the band relied on Eliran Kantor (Testament, Kreator) who crafted an intimidating piece perfectly visualizing the aura of this opus. It would be too simple to deploy descriptions like "heavy" or "brutal"; on "Descent" IMMOLATION excel in delivering death metal that stands alone with a unique and elevated voice.
