Doctor Rhythm, Long-awaited reissue on LP of an extremely rare 1981 Jazz Funk album from South Africa!! In addition to the boogie classics 'Hookit up' and 'I'm So Strong Now,' this fantastic masterpiece is now back, filled with the one-of-a-kind grooves fostered in the South African club scene of the 1980s, from Afro-jazz to disco and reggae. Doctor Rhythm is a project started by guitarist Paul Peterson and Spirits Rejoice, a jazz fusion band that had been active since the late 1970s, incorporating a great deal of funk and soul influences. This album, made after the hit single 'Shine On,' is the only album under the Doctor Rhythm name, and is now a rare grooming masterpiece sought after by collectors around the world, especially rare groove fans. Due to it's pop sense, backed by the band's musicality and the timeliness of the band, it has been reevaluated as club music in recent years.
