The Creation, Demon Records are proud to celebrate the career of The Creation, one of the most influential and innovative groups to emerge from the UK music scene in the second half of the Sixties. With eye-catching new artwork, this new boxset features ten 7-inch singles, each on a different coloured vinyl, housed in five gatefold digi-sleeves. Between June 1966 and April 1968, The Creation released six singles in the UK, beginning with 'Making Time' - recently finding a new audience as the theme to the Channel 4 TV programme The Great Pottery Throw Down. Their follow-up single 'Painter Man' reached No. 36 in November 1966, their only release to break into the Top 40, though the song would become an unlikely hit 13 years courtesy of Boney M. While the band failed to find a wider audience in the UK beyond the evolving paisley-clad Mod scene, demand in Europe remained high, particularly in Germany. That phase of their career is represented here by their covers of Larry Williams' 'Bony Moronie', and The Tokens' 'For All That I Am'. The Creation spilt in 1968, at which time their line-up include future Rolling Stones' guitarist Ronnie Wood. In 1971, original singer Kenny Pickett found himself at No. 1 as co-writer of Clive Dunn's novelty single 'Grandad', while the same year bass player Kim Gardner got to No. 3 with Ashton, Gardner & Dyke, and 'Resurrection Shuffle'.
