'Peter and The Wolves is available in a limited edition 500-run of green vinyl in a deluxe gatefold sleeve featuring extensive notes and a montage of historical pics. Back in the 1970s Pete Dodd formed Thompson Twins with old school chums Tom Bailey and John Roog, later to be joined by Jon 'Pod' Podgorski adding drums to two guitars and a bass. In the post-punk new wave era the band built up a live set of indie guitar pop originals and began performing in venues around their native Chesterfield and nearby Sheffield. Emerging at the same time as local acts including Human League and Def Leppard the quartet built a reputation as exciting live performers (Sheffield Uni and Polytechnic, the Limit Club, The Broadfields, Chesterfield's Fusion Club, Hull Uni etc). By 1979 it was time to explore new horizons (minus Pod) with a move to London. In April 1980 the band's first single Squares & Triangles (penned by Pete) was released and Thompson Twins' recording career had begun, bolstered by their growing reputation as a must-see live act. The first two albums 'A Product Of...' and 'Set' - supported by much national touring - consolidated their position as a major 'One To Watch'.After a split in personnel Tom famously took the TT trio with Alannah Currie and Joe Leeway to the toppermost of the poppermost. Pete returned to his first calling as a journalist but never abandoned his love of music. Now, nearly half a century on, he has produced a resume of a lifetime of musical activities combining modern day work with revivals of material from his TT past. Featuring collaborations with musician friends new and old - including Tom Bailey and John Roog - it shows that in some hearts the music never dies. Surely a contender in the record books for the longest gap between a band member leaving a band and setting out to establish himself as a solo artist!
