Having completed what he (and many critics) regarded as his masterpiece in The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, Charles Mingus' next sessions for Impulse found him looking back over a long and fruitful career. Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus is a type of "greatest hits revisited" record, as the bassist reworks some of his best-known tunes here. The titles are altered as well. For instance, " I B.S." is basically "Haitian Fight Song", while "Theme for Lester Young" is the well-known "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat." The 11-piece bands assembled here are among Mingus' finest, featuring some of the key personnel (Eric Dolphy, pianist Jaki Byard) that would make up the legendary quintet/ sextet with which Mingus toured Europe in 1964. In Stock Items
Only items that are currently available can be purchased on our website.
Shipping Time:

Out of Stock Items (Backorder Queue)
If an item is currently unavailable, you’ll see the option to “Join Backorder Queue.”
Here’s how it works:
Join the queue for the record you want.
When it comes back in stock, customers are notified in the order they joined.
If inventory is limited, notifications are sent in batches.
When you receive a notification, you’ll have a limited window (typically 24 hours) to complete your purchase before it moves to the next person in line - IF inventory is limited.
Joining the queue does NOT require payment.
This system ensures fairness and prevents overselling.
Release Updates
If an upcoming title has a scheduled release date (pre-order items), the product page will reflect the most current expected timeline.
If release dates change, the product page will be updated accordingly. Once the item becomes available, it will be added as an in stock item.
*Pre-Order items use the same queue system as Backorder items.
When will I receive a tracking number?
We provide tracking for every order. Tracking will be available once your product is shipped. All of our products are shipped out of our warehouse in Westlake Village, CA. You can track your order through your account on our website, via any of the shipping confirmation emails we've sent you, or through the Shop App.
Can I cancel my order?
Orders may be canceled any time before they ship. Once an order has shipped, it falls under our standard return policy.
