The remix is going to be available on limited edition transparent 7" and it's a must have for funk djs and aficionados. Zambian singer, rapper and songwriter Sampa The Great unleash a "Zamrock remix" of the song 'Emi Aluta' taken from Seun Kuti & Egypt 80's latest album 'Heavier Yet (Lays The Crownless Head)'. The original song on the album already sees a featuring of Sampa The Great with Afrobeat virtuoso Seun Kuti, who described Sampa as "one of best and most innovative lyricists of our time". With this new spicy "Zamrock remix" the track gets a urban R&b/afro-funk twist, courtesy of new African Queen Sampa. Seun Kuti & Sampa The Great "Emi Aluta Zamrock rmx" will be released on limited edition clear 7" vinyl on February 14 via independent Milan label Record Kicks. The 7" vinyl is limited to 700 copies worldwide and has a 45 edit of the original Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 "Emi Aluta feat Sampa The Great" on the B side. Sampa the Great is a poet, singer-songwriter, and global artistic visionary in the truest sense of the term, dedicated to catalyzing positive change and empowerment. Hailing from Zambia but raised in Botswana, in just a few short years, she has established herself as one of global rap's most compelling and outspoken voices, reaching new levels of recognition and acclaim with the release of albums such as 2019's "The Return" and it's global hit single "Final Form" and 2022's defining album "As Above, So Below [...]". Recent years have seen Sampa collaborate with the likes of The Avalanches, Baker Boy, Emmanuel Jagari Chanda (WITCH), Denzel Curry and Angelique Kidjo; has appeared on the posthumous 'Stumbling Down' with the late Tony Allen in 2020. Seun Kuti is the youngest son of Afro beat pioneer Fela Kuti. Seun has spent most of his life preserving and extending his father's political and musical legacy as the leader of his father's former band Egypt 80. As a developing saxophonist and percussionist, he entered the formal ranks of the band before he was 12. In 1997 when Fela passed, in fulfilment of his father's wishes, Seun assumed the mantle as head of Egypt 80 and he has run it ever since. During his career, Seun Kuti released 5 albums with Egypt 80 and collaborated with many great artists such as MC extraordinaire Black Thought, Janelle Monae Talib Kweli, MadLib and Damian Marley. His latest album is "Heavier Yet (Lay The Crownless Head)" praised by the critics as "his greatest and most powerful yet".
