Subject to it's own Pitchfork documentary, listed in numerous prestigious Best Albums of the 90s lists, and destined to be re-discovered by continuous generations, THE LONESOME CROWDED WEST stands as the defacto Northwest indie-rock record. Originally released in 1997, it not only helped shape the sound that came to be associated with the American Pacific Northwest, but across these sprawling, wide-open 15 songs, Modest House helped redefine what was possible for guitar music. As such, THE LONESOME CROWDED WEST has often been mimicked, but it's awesome open-hearted existentialism and manic ambition has rarely been matched. A modern classic that demands reappraisal.

In Stock Items
Only items that are currently available can be purchased on our website.
Shipping Time:
Orders typically ship within 2–5 business days.
Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking information.
Payment Policy:
Payment is collected at checkout at the time your order is placed.
Out of Stock Items (Backorder Queue)
If an item is currently unavailable, you’ll see the option to “Join Backorder Queue.”
Here’s how it works:
Join the queue for the record you want.
When it comes back in stock, customers are notified in the order they joined.
If inventory is limited, notifications are sent in batches.
When you receive a notification, you’ll have a limited window (typically 24 hours) to complete your purchase before it moves to the next person in line - IF inventory is limited.
Joining the queue does NOT require payment.
This system ensures fairness and prevents overselling.
Release Updates
If an upcoming title has a scheduled release date (pre-order items), the product page will reflect the most current expected timeline.
If release dates change, the product page will be updated accordingly. Once the item becomes available, it will be added as an in stock item.
*Pre-Order items use the same queue system as Backorder items.
When will I receive a tracking number?
We provide tracking for every order. Tracking will be available once your product is shipped. All of our products are shipped out of our warehouse in Westlake Village, CA. You can track your order through your account on our website, via any of the shipping confirmation emails we've sent you, or through the Shop App.
Can I cancel my order?
Orders may be canceled any time before they ship. Once an order has shipped, it falls under our standard return policy.
