Marafo Records present the first vinyl issue of Siba E a Fuloresta's Toda Vez Que Eu Dou Um Passo O Mundo Sai Do Lugar, originally released on CD in 2007. Siba was born in the cosmopolitan city of Recife, in a family which keeps close connection to it's rural origin. Since his first contact with Mata do Norte tradition, he started a long learning and collaborating history, practicing the fundamentals of rhythmic poetry through the years to then become one of the greatest masters of the maracatu and cirandeiros' new generation. At the same time, as a member of the band Mestre Ambrósio, Siba developed a singular innovative music style, which has it's distinct mark in the dialogue between traditional and contemporary, past and present, the street and the stage. After living in São Paulo for seven years, he went back to Pernambuco in 2002 to start Fuloresta, a group formed by traditional musicians from the small town of Nazaré da Mata. Their debut album Fuloresta do Samba was recorded in a mobile unit near Nazaré and released in 2003, followed by presentations all over Brazil. The group also toured Europe eight times from 2004 to 2011, developing their ability to adapt a song that lasts all night. Siba says: "We never understand our past or traditions as a cage. On the contrary, our traditions offer us a vast vocabulary and we try our best to use it all day and night. It is impossible to reproduce the way we engage the whole community in poetry and dancing all night, but in those 60, 90 minutes the festivals offer us we have a great opportunity to show our musical impact." Toda Vez Que Eu Dou Um Passo O Mundo Sai Do Lugar was Siba E a Fuloresta's second album: lyrics with intense poetry, cocos-de-roda, and frevos mixed with dub music, guitars, and electric pianos. A wind orchestra executing innovative arrangements with very special guest artists such as Céu, Beto Villares, Marcelo Pretto, Fernando Catatau, Isaar França, and Zé Galdino. An album with a surprising cosmopolitan tone that goes beyond and questions the barriers between popular culture and popular music, spoken poetry, literature, and the worn-out contrast between tradition and modernity.
