Cesaria Evora, Limited edition of 1000 numbered copies on orange coloured 180-gram audiophile vinyl. Cesária Evora's Live à Paris 1993 is a celebrated live album released in 1996. Recorded during her live performance in Paris on 12 & 13 June 1993, this album captures the soulful and emotive voice of Cesária Evora, the renowned Cape Verdean singer often referred to as the "Barefoot Diva." The live recording highlights her mastery of morna, a traditional Cape Verdean music style often compared to blues or fado for it's melancholic tone and themes of longing and nostalgia. Evora's voice carries an intimate and heartfelt quality, drawing audiences into the stories embedded in the songs. The album features morna and coladeira styles, with lyrical themes often revolving around love, loss, and the struggles of Cape Verdean life.
