The Wannadies' fourth album, Bagsy Me, was released in 1997 and features the band's UK Top 20 hit single Hit, which reached number twenty in the UK charts. The album follows the musical direction of Be a Girl, combining catchy guitar pop with an extra dose of energetic punk-pop. Retro synth sounds, powerful melodies and infectious hooks come together throughout the record, creating a mix of upbeat songs and more emotional moments.
