Virga, Employing a patient but direct approach to raw sound that swells and recedes like the gales of a Midwestern storm, Virga marries elements of Americana and post-punk into a distinctive sonic atmosphere exuding intimacy, even as distortion engulfs and cymbals crash. Part eulogy, part confession, part love letter, Eremocene explores our fraught relationship with the land that raised us. With this release, Virga undertakes the somber task of reconciling the profound intimacy we feel for our homeland with our inexcusable treatment of it. Virga is a four-piece "prairie gaze" band from Lawrence, Kansas, blending Americana, post-punk, and shoegaze into a raw, atmospheric sound that evokes the isolation and beauty of the Midwest. Virga crafts haunting, textured music rooted in Midwestern landscapes-part intimate folk, part brooding post-punk, tied together by a sense of place and ecological introspection.
